Geps - Big eyes good evil

-

Oh my, I have not been around for a while. My sleeping patterns were becoming crazy, or better my sleep was becoming non-existent, so I decided to prioritize running, lifting and sleep. But I cannot stay more than one month without posting! And here I am, in one in the warmest days ever in Berlin. It's 38° Celsius (100° F I think) and should go to 39 in the next hours.

Geps comes from Geppo, a comics character of my childhood. A good devil that tried its best to do good deeds. It is inspired by Doodle Critters from Dawn George and other "face" tangles. Probably not a tangle pattern worth submitting to tanglepatterns, yet I wanted it to have its page as well. Let's say there are tangle patterns and marziottangle patterns. :D

Here the step out. You start from the eyes, and draw the rest.

And a tangle with a more canonical string. Where Geps is used as a texture.

I could not find anything in the blog where I used the pattern. I don't remember its birth, if you are interested ask me again, I will try to find it out by checking my brain storming page and the tea bag envelopes I have not published yet. Because I am still tangling on tea bag envelopes, even if I am not posting!

Kaspah from the tip of your fingers

Kaspah is one of the most loved patterns of mine, and Alice Hendon was so kind to post it in her Facebook group "Tangle All Around" as tangle of the day on December 17 2025. Some people have tangled it from Alice's group, some other after I posted it in the group of the people that will attend the CZT seminar with me in Munich in February. From my CZT mates Kim Witek and Susanne Mäuser you can find the following. Susanne has also the blog Sinnesplätschern  and is the main commenter on my blog. :) Kim Witek Susanne Mäuser Susanne Mäuser Here Susanne did a whole Spinner. On the top in the center you can find Kaspah. :) Susanne Mäuser And here the tangles from Tangle All Around. I was so happy that Alice featured a pattern of mine. It is taking quite some time to have something on pattern sites. Borgoid - Zentangle from the space!

I usually draw flowers, stars, petals, sometimes curly ribbons. And then while training for Ambacco another of my favourite patterns came out. Borgoid. It reminds me a starship from the bad guys (the Borg... are you team Star Trek or Star Wars? I am with no doubt a Trekkie, Dr Spock was my first love when I was two). And an asteroid. And so... Coloring - Part 1

-
Image
I want to improve my coloring taste and skills. I decided to follow videos from Eva Wu to make some coloured tiles. Fun thing, while looking for her I found a video by ShanDrawArt, but discovered it was not Eva Wu only after my tile was done. I know, I have not tangled a tile from Eva Wu yet. Shame on me! The first I did was a study on gems. In the first gem I did not put white only on the bottom. Several gems would have come better with black on top instead of a color of a similar hue. But I like the result of my tile anyways! It could be a childish tile, it is not indeed helping me in improving my taste in colors, but at least I improved at gems, so far I tangled only one at my CZT seminar. Could it be that the coloring is a bit more childish than I expected since it is not a video from Eva Wu? Another thing I noticed: the tiles I prepared are made of a rather smooth paper, and also normal graphite should rather be blended with a stomp than with a tortillon to have a bit more control...
