Geps - Big eyes good evil

Oh my, I have not been around for a while. My sleeping patterns were becoming crazy, or better my sleep was becoming non-existent, so I decided to prioritize running, lifting and sleep. But I cannot stay more than one month without posting! And here I am, in one in the warmest days ever in Berlin. It's 38° Celsius (100° F I think) and should go to 39 in the next hours.

Geps comes from Geppo, a comics character of my childhood. A good devil that tried its best to do good deeds. It is inspired by Doodle Critters from Dawn George and other "face" tangles. Probably not a tangle pattern worth submitting to tanglepatterns, yet I wanted it to have its page as well. Let's say there are tangle patterns and marziottangle patterns. :D

I could not find anything in the blog where I used the pattern. I don't remember its birth, if you are interested ask me again, I will try to find it out by checking my brain storming page and the tea bag envelopes I have not published yet. Because I am still tangling on tea bag envelopes, even if I am not posting!

About Shading

I have been struggling with shading. At the beginning of my tangle adventure, I simply skipped shading. Then I started doing it every now and then, when I felt inspired. Now I am following the Zentangle Primer 1 and I feel like I must do it. And then I reached chapter 4. Shading. My hope was that all secrets about shading would have been unveiled, but I felt like they weren't. Since I did not want to go to Chapter 5 without being a bit better at shading, and still had two tiles to fill a page of 6, I was checking the web. And Barbara Langston came up, with this video I indeed recommend it if you want to learn something about different ways of shading. Uaso - spreading wings and tails all around

I arrived just some hours ago at my CZT seminar in Munich, but I will talk about it in more detail in another post (or more) after digesting everything. So many people around, so many languages (one of my passions, as some of you could already know)... and a long long way to the hotel. Here you can find one of my go-to patterns when I have to fill space. Lately, at least. I came up with it at a dinner with friends, I surely told a bit about it with my last bookmark post. Uaso is actually a kind of transliteration of oiseau, bird in French.
