Cuorly - a curly heart

Image
This pattern has stayed dormant in my brain storming pages for a while, with other curly patterns. But in the end I decided to promote it to the pattern sketchbook. :D It is pretty similar to my Ticola, but there is a central petal that differentiates it. and you can also make only the small heart part. Cuore is heart in Italian, so Cuorly is a curly heart. Cuorly, Crescent Moon, Fescu, Printemps, Sampson, Icanthis, Verdigogh, Wadical. 22-23 November 2025 I also tangled it in a tea bag envelope. 8pus, Krizzy, Cuorly, Lilife, Semba, Zenith, B-Fly, Puffle, Mythograph, Schoggi. 5 November 2025 My Patterns 8pus Cuorly Krizzy Zentangle Original Patterns Crescent Moon Fescu Icanthis Mythograph Printemps Sampson Verdigogh Wadical Zenith Other Patterns B-Fly Lilife Puffle Schoggi Semba

Cippociappo - a borrowed name

Image
Another easy pattern using S shapes. Probably my favourite shape.  The name actually identified the Nintendo 3DS charger in a past life of mine. I think the ciappocippo was the machine to change the save data in a cartridge. But it was all my stuff, I have always had a tendency to make up names for everything. This indeed does not look like a charger, but when I drew it that old name resurfaced, and since I am not using the 3DS much lately, I will not mix up the names. :D You can see it as a flower, as a starfish, as a claw... and probably as much more stuff. Like any pattern, you can change perspective and see it in another way.  Cippociappo, Wadical, Moon Pie, Sez, Printemps. 21-22 November 2025 Probably this is where I tangled it the first time. Tig, Cippociappo, Nanalee. ~20 August 2025 Cippociappo, Printemps, Barbix. Mid August 2025 My Patterns Barbix Cippociappo Tig Zentangle Original Patterns Printemps Sez Wadical Other Patterns Moon Pie Nanalee

Keena - a funny snail!

Image
And another simple pattern. Sometimes it looks like a snail (lumachina), sometimes it does not, depending on the position of the elements and if you don't start from Flux. The best of it is to embellish everything in a playful way. This is a pattern to play with!  Bijou is the gentle and wise snail, Keena is the funny and crazy one. I wonder if they are somehow related. You need a bit of both in your life! Keena, Sez, Marasu, Dark Busters, Lenche. 20-22 November And this is where Keena first appeared! Keena, 8Pus. 3 November 2025 My Patterns 8Pus Keena Zentangle Original Patterns Marasu Sez Other Patterns Dark Busters Lenche

Blumein - a flowery stone

Image
This is a pretty easy pattern. I think it is also prone to some kind of variations, like making the stones more irregular, closer, farther away. You cna make more rounds of stones. Or only one. You can decorate the stones or the background. But this is kind of true with all the patterns. Yet, the simplier the pattern, the easier it is to recognize that you can do variations! About Blumein name, Blume is flower and Stein is stone in German. I know, a simple name. I often go for simple names Blumein, Zante, Printemps, Sez, Wadical, Dark Busters, Fescu, Static, Tipple, Negtip. 7-20 November 2025 This is possiblz when I first tangled Blumein. Blumein, Olimpiad, Printemps. 8 October 2025 And some more tea bag envelopes drawn to train to have ideas for the pattern sketchbook.  8pus, Gelijoy, Blumein, Tipple, Static. 6 November 2025 Blumein, Printemps, Agru. 6 November 2025 Blumein, Negtip, Static, Printemps. 6 November 2025 My Patterns 8pus Agru Blumein Negtip Olimpiad Zentangle Original...

8pus - tentacles are not always scary!

Image
So, I actually drew this pattern the first time a while ago, but I only added it recently to my pattern sketchbook. I know, it looks a bit like a snake, or tentacles, or things that are not usually so cute like the most of the tangles, but it also works great for dividers, connecters, borders. There's place for everything in Zentangle, am I right? 8pus, Lenche, Printemps, Hosopli, Shattuck, Turkital, Bales, Florz, Pokeleaf, Fescu. 6-20 November 2025 This is the brain storming page from a while ago. July? August? And let's go with some tea bag envelopes. 8pus, Flossil. 6 November 2025 8pus, Gelijoy, Blumein, Tipple, Static. 6 November 2025   8pus, Flux, Printemps, Keena. 3 November 2025 8pus, Krizzy, Cuorly, Lilife, Semba, Zenith, B-Fly, Puffle, Mythograph, Schoggi. 5 November 2025 ChainmailleDeux, 8pus, Zante, Sez. 17 October 2025 ChainmailleDeux, 8pus, Zante. 28 October 2025 My Patterns 8pus Blumein ChainmailleDeux Cuorly Hosopli Keena Krizzy Zentangle Original Patterns Bales ...

Negtip - always on the tip of my fineliner

Image
Here is one of the patterns that I always do, also without noticing. It is similar to Tipple, but usually the orbs are black or thickly filled and spaced. It has a slight animalier feeling even if it's only orbs. I would also do some animalier fillings, even if animalier is usually not my stuff, at least with clothing... But this is also the beauty of Zentangle, to try out something that we would not do otherwise. And maybe discover something about us in the process! :D I did several tangles with this pattern, but I have started to label it only recently. I could add it here and there when checking my blog. You can also comment old posts where I missed it if you feel like! For the time being I can check all the posts, and apparently also far way more popular blogs do not have so many comments, so I will be able to check all comments for a long foreseeable future. Unless Zentangle explodes in popularity and activity in the next future! :) Negtip, Minoo, Kaboom, Sez, Queen's Crow...

Tea Bag Envelopes - Part 33

Image
I have some more tea bag envelopes to add, that I tangled before my holiday.  I trained a lot Temiro, a bit 8pus. Temiro, Cadent, Florz. 3 November 205 I like the snail-like pattern, even if it is not always a snail. 8pus, Flux, Printemps, Keena. 3 November 2025 Was I thinking at windmills before visiting Netherlands? Could be. Festune, Srose. 3 November 2025 Temiro, Zapa, Flux. 4 November 2025 Temiro, Flux. 4 Novemebr 2025 Temiro. 4 November 2025 Temiro, Kemistri, Arik. 4 November 2025 Does it count like doing Inktober to put some patterns in a tea bag envelope? Not for my study sketchbook, but at least I did them (in reality I already knew Zenith, Mythograph and Schoggi). 8pus, Krizzy, Cuorly, Lilife, Semba, Zenith, B-Fly, Puffle, Mythograph, Schoggi. 5 November 2025 My Patterns 8pus Cuorly Keena Krizzy Srose Temiro Zapa Zentangle Original Patterns Cadent Festune Florz Flux Mythograph Printemps Zenith Other Patterns Arik B-Fly Kemistri Lilife Puffle Schoggi Semba

Temiro - do you feel watched?

Image
Hi there!  I have been on holiday in the Netherlands for some time and have not tangled daily. I will talk about it in another post. Back to my tangles, today we have Temiro, I'm watching you, in Spanish. It starts as a fragment but it works well also without boundaries! Temiro, Sunlight, Flux, Fescu, Kemistri, Arik. 4-6 November 2025 Is it here where I first tangled it? Temiro, Turkital, Mel Mel, Shattuck. 24-31 October 2025 I must have some tea bag envelopes with it but I still did not get a picture from them... Stay tuned! My patterns Temiro Zentangle Original Patterns Fescu Flux Shattuck Other Patterns Arik Kemistri Mel Mel Sunlight Turkital

In-Or-Out - a versatile border

Image
This border has been born in a moment when I was needing a thin border. The funny thing is that it's so simple that, on the other side, you can do heavy variations. So, it can fill any space you want it to take. Which is a necessary tool in my tangle toolbox! In-Or-Out, Srose, Diva Dance, Dorn, Sez, Yumemi, Bamboline, Paradox, Soleil, Zinger. 28 October-3 November 2025  I think this time the quality of the pic is indeed too bad, time to publish the single tiles as well. Here the brain storming page. There's another couple of embrional ideas. Some pretty close to Nami. In-Or-Out, 26 October 2025 And this is where the pattern came out of my pen. An easy one, to add a bit of movement among some elements. Fenomena, Efeu, In-Or-Out. 17-29 October 2025 My Patterns Dorn Fenomena In-Or-Out Srose Zentangle Original Patterns Diva Dance Paradox Sez Zinger Other Patterns Bamboline Efeu Soleil Yumemi

Marball - a childhood memory

Image
Another day, another pattern. Since I have still many new patterns that are not in my pattern sketchbook, I think I will start with the ones that have already an entry on the blog, and it also mean a name. Others still are in the dream world and not really in a tangle, so they can wait... unless I am inspired to draw them, which is always a good reason. But this has still to happen. You have to wait a bit. Now it is the time of Marball, that has been born during one of my attempts to learn a bit how to teach Zentangle to kids. There was a series of videos from Kelly Blouin with some good ideas but still I have not found anything really perfect about it. Yet, while drawing orbs called by her marbles, I did my marbles. Marball, Dark Busters, Efeu, Jetties, Xrose, Gelijoy, Bolly, Srose, Fescu, Therefore, Toodles, Printemps, Pokeleaf. 25 October-4 November 2025 Here it is where Marball has been born Marball, Printemps, Static, Negtip, Agru. 15 October 2025 And here we have a tea bag envelo...

Tea Bag Envelopes - Part 32

Image
I am continuing with this technique that probably would fall more under the name of doodling, but I indeed like it a lot. I think it works pretty well for bookmarks, I also did one at a disco for a friend that was having his birthday. But maybe I will do a post with the recent bookmarks another day! ChainmailleDeux, Nanalee, Printemps, Fluxfan. 29 October 2025 Suam, Flux, Box Spirals, Sez. 29 October 2025 Butterfly, Narwal, Srose, Fescu, Dorn. 29 October 2025 Butterfly. 29 October 2025 Suam. 29 October 2025 Is the filler more DMMC or Flossil? Marking both. Here Suap came out while training with Suam.
