Bookmarks - or better said, tortellini!

Image
Over the last months I have given away some bookmarks. The first ones have been at a dinner with some random people. It was a weird supposed dating event with dinner where one attendant was a friend of the owner of the restaurant, two attendants knew each other (and one of them was me), one that was there as a present that was not so well received, another one to replace a friend that could not come. Not really a dating event, that in the end did not interest me so much, but lots of laughs and, from my side, too much food and alcool. :D At the end I drew quite some bookmarks. I think four. I received pictures only from one of them, I did not think about taking pictures prior. :D I never did bookmarks on the road before. I did not have the right paper and was not drawing at the best, but you have to start somewhere, right? We found a name on that day. Tortellino, from the tortillon. Nobody around knew what a tortillon is, and tortellino was the closest word. :D Fluxfan. 9 October 2025 S...

Fronde - jagged lines made easy

Image
And here we are with the last pattern of my first pattern sketchbook. I have used it in the past with FanFan, and it is pretty similar to the technique used in Nanalee and probably other patterns as well. Mainly, you draw close lines of different length and then connect them with curvy lines. Fronde are the tree small branches, that usually move with the winds. The pattern does not remind it 100%, but sometimes the name sticked. Fronde, Printemps, Wirlz, Tipple, Dark Busters, Rambles. 13-14 December 2025 I am adding a couple of tea bag envelopes, but I used the technique in more, but I will probably make patterns out of them.  Borgoid, Fronde. 17 December 2025 Fronde, Frondula. 19 December 2025 My Patterns Borgoid Fronde Frondula Zentangl Original Patterns Printemps Rambles Tipple Other Patterns Dark Busters Wirlz

Feskoos and Loomino - more Fescu

Image
And again some Fescu variations. I think I have still one waiting, but it has not been added to my pattern sketchbook yet. So, let's focus on these ones. :D We have Feskoos, the first one I came up with but that I did not draw yet. You know, I have too many patterns around. It has been born in the heart of my S ribbon patterns, probably as an Srose variation. Loomino instead is pretty recent. The first time it came out while doodling at a meeting I think, at the border of the page together with some notes. Loomino because it looks a bit like a lumino, tealight. It is very easy but I find it pretty cute. In the end it is a tangleation of Fescu and Sez, but together they have a pretty different vibe. Feskoos, Loomino, Zante, Printemps, Toodles, Tipple, Scallamp. 11-12 December 2025 And here some tea bag envelopes, as usual. Tea Bag Envelopes - Part 36

Image
I haven't posted tea bag envelopes for quite some time, but it does not mean I stopped tangling on them. They keep being one of my favourite things to tangle on. I seldom check online for patterns from others and usually tangle things I am comfortable with or end up drawing new things. Scena. 5 December 2025 Scena. 5 December 2025 Ribescu, Tipple, Fronde, Cadent. 8 December 2025 Here, but very often lately, I am usign a technique whose name I don't know and should probably create a name for it. After some brainstorming, I came out with the name Corinthian. It could change over time, we will see. Kaspah from the tip of your fingers

Image
Kaspah is one of the most loved patterns of mine, and Alice Hendon was so kind to post it in her Facebook group "Tangle All Around" as tangle of the day on December 17 2025. Some people have tangled it from Alice's group, some other after I posted it in the group of the people that will attend the CZT seminar with me in Munich in February. From my CZT mates Kim Witek and Susanne Mäuser you can find the following. Susanne has also the blog Sinnesplätschern  and is the main commenter on my blog. :) Kim Witek Susanne Mäuser Susanne Mäuser Here Susanne did a whole Spinner. On the top in the center you can find Kaspah. :) Susanne Mäuser And here the tangles from Tangle All Around. I was so happy that Alice featured a pattern of mine. It is taking quite some time to have something on pattern sites. Piumescu and Florescu - a bunch of Fescu!

Image
We have another couple of patterns based on Fescu. Piumescu recalls me feathers (piume) and Florescu, with its aura, can be arranged in a flower, but probably in many other ways as well. Piumescu, Florescu, Printemps, Tipple, Flux, Zaungast, Damsel Leaf, Tulipa, Icanthis. 11 December 2025 I think I should have drawn these more but probably I have not labeled them all the times, as sometimes a pattern does not have a name yet. :D Flost, Florescu, 15-25 October 2025 Stay tuned for more Fescu days! Vesq and Veslob - so natural, so Fescu

Image
Today we start a small series with patterns inspired by Fescu.  I have probably drawn Vesq more times in the past, I feel it is something that comes naturally out of my pen. I think I have not seen around by others, but who knows. When patterns are easy and natural I always have the doubt that somebody else could have found them natural. Veslob is also quite natural for me. About the names... Vesq is pretty similar to Fescu, especially if you take into account that some languages like German and Dutch read V as F. And Veslob is Vesq with a blob. Vesq, Veslob, Printemps, Tipple, Sampson, Nanalee, Mythograph. 10-11 December 2025 I surely have it at least on one tea bag envelope. Vesq, Imbranart, Printemps. 25 November 2025 My Patterns Imbranart Veslob Vesq Zentangle Original Patterns Mythograph Printemps Sampson Tipple Other Patterns Nanalee

Cospi - fill it festive!

Image
Christmas is coming, and we have finally a festive tangle. It came out in one of my tea bag envelopes. I called it cospi, since this "word" is included in the word biancospino, hawthorn, that somehow reminds this pattern. Funny thing, we talked about biancospino several times with my Italian Zentangle group. Maybe it inspired me somehow. I also got some Chinese dried biancospino in an Asian market. I added it to a soup, but it should work better in teas. :D Cospi, Flux, Printemps, Tipple, Zante. 9-10 December 2025 Cospi, Fronde. 5 December 2025 My Patterns Cospi Fronde Zentangle Original Patterns Flux Printemps Tipple Other Patterns Zante

Anosrib - More fillings, more souls

Image
This basis of this pattern is pretty similar to KoiKoi. But it misses the extra belly. Since I did not do this S pattern yet, and have not seen it around. But it is so simple that it could be already somewhere. It came out in the brain storming page where collecting all the fish pattern ideas. The name is very simple. ANOther S RIBbon. It can be filled in so many different ways. Or not filled. Anosrib, Flux, Tipple, Printemps. 6 December 2025 My Patterns Anosrib Zentangle Original Patterns Flux Printemps Tipple

Caito - Small fish all around

Image
I just noticed I had around 800 views lately, but I assume it was from some bots. Maybe some day I will have many visits from real people! And hopefully AI is not training with my tangles. :D Back to my patterns. Today it's the turn of another fish pattern. Caito. Caito comes from Pescadito, that simply means small fish. If you vary a lot the pattern you can lose the fish idea, but this is true with every pattern. You can vary it so much that it becomes something very different! I think this works great as a kind of reticula. Caito, Sez, Negtip, Wadical, Fronde, Static, Printemps, Flux, Crescent Moon. 6 December 2025 And here the first tea bag envelope where I tangled the pattern. Zeef - Sometimes bugs become fish

Image
Another day, another fish pattern. This one is based on Bugz. I actually did this modification of Bugz quite some time ago, but decided to add the pattern since it was nice, easy, fun. Why the name Zeef? It is similar to Fis, pronounced the other way round. I have to come up with easy names, or I will need more time to create names than to draw new patterns. Zeef, Wirlz, Printemps. 28 December - 6 December 2025 Here you can see a plenty of variations of Bugz, among them also Zeef. I practically tangled it in my first ten days in the Zentangle sphere.  Zeef, Bugz, Flux, Casinoda, Spiral Rose. 1 June 2025 And here a tea bag envelope with it. Tea Bag Envelopes - Part 35

Image
So, almost again up to date with the tea bag envelopes! I think there are a couple of ideas for new patterns around here as well. For example here. Should I add this flower based on Fescu? Let me copy it in my brain storming pages! Vesq, Imbranart, Printemps. 25 November 2025 Gelijoy. 26 November 2025 Something new here. The pattern hides and get almost invisible when surrounded by orbs. But the pattern has an interesting story. I thought it looks like the Star Wars Star Ships. TaiFai, Sez, Tipple. 27 November 2025 It was some time I was not tangling a recent pattern from TanglePatterns. Merry Bellz, Printemps. 27 November 2025 Here I was trying to render a variation of the starship, but it very much looks like Cadent. Simply. There's also a Fescu variation that popped up while doodling when taking down notes. Cadent, Loomino. 27 November 2025 Box Spirals, Printemps, Flux. 28 November 2025 More patterns. This one looks like a box rose, there are maybe some similar around, roses are...
