All Dent, Crazy All Dent, All Tao - one small element, several patterns - Part 1

Oh my. The day when I came up with the basic element of this pattern I felt like I discovered the cure to some disease or something of the kind!
This element is an S with a seed in the middle, and can be used like Cadent in cadent and several other patterns based on Cadent.

I have not explored all possible variations, but I worked with some. Here is the same part, and there will be soon a second part.

The basic pattern is All Dent. All because it looks a lot like All Stars by Tomàs Padrós, even if it is Cadent based.

The crazy version of All Dent includes also Cadent (S) parts. In this version I did not integrate Huggins (C) curves, but you could do it. I will probably add some examples soon, if I recall correctly some tea bag envelopes that should be posted soon should have that variation.

And, another time, while reproducing Funls (or Poppy Hugs by ZHQ, but let's be honest, Margaret Bremner came up with the pattern before Zentangle Inc) I had a pattern that looked a bit like Tau, a bit like Y-ful power. Guess who did Tau? Again Tomàs Padrós!
Maybe the fact of coming up with patterns that feel like the ones from Tomàs Padrós made me feel so electric and excited!

About Shading

I have been struggling with shading. At the beginning of my tangle adventure, I simply skipped shading. Then I started doing it every now and then, when I felt inspired. Now I am following the Zentangle Primer 1 and I feel like I must do it. And then I reached chapter 4. Shading. My hope was that all secrets about shading would have been unveiled, but I felt like they weren't. Since I did not want to go to Chapter 5 without being a bit better at shading, and still had two tiles to fill a page of 6, I was checking the web. And Barbara Langston came up, with this video I indeed recommend it if you want to learn something about different ways of shading. Uaso - spreading wings and tails all around

I arrived just some hours ago at my CZT seminar in Munich, but I will talk about it in more detail in another post (or more) after digesting everything. So many people around, so many languages (one of my passions, as some of you could already know)... and a long long way to the hotel. Here you can find one of my go-to patterns when I have to fill space. Lately, at least. I came up with it at a dinner with friends, I surely told a bit about it with my last bookmark post.
