Castelli - Back to the roots
This pattern, have I already talked about it?
Castelli is the hometown of my mother. It is in the mountains in Abruzzo. It is known worldwide for its ceramics, if you visit any museum of decorative arts in Europe you will find some ceramics from Castelli, at least I did so far!
They do very complex designs, but the easiest yet nicest one (in my opinion) is the "Fiore castellano" (flower from Castelli). My mother was also painting them when she was a teen to earn a bit of extra money. My version here, called Castelli like the town, is actually a memory of the flower, a bit simplified, but you can also draw the right fiore castellano and call it Castelli or Fiore Castellano.
However you call it, however you draw it, I am happy to share this small piece of my family history.
My version is here.

And here a shop where you can see plates and vases featuring the classical rose and other flower patterns of the fiore castellano (no affiliation, I am linking the page since there are many nice pics).
I started this drawing a few hours ago, at my last "Zentangle Together". I just started, but I like how the curly stems make the pattern a bit more intricated yet light and gentle. I don't want to repeat the same pattern in the whole page, I will have to look for something a bit ephemeral to fit with the vibe of the page. :)

And some more examples of Castelli from some deconstruction pages.
