Yesterday I organised my first meeting to tangle together with other people.
I have to admit, I was very stressed, afraid that nobody would have come, afraid that people would have come with not even a pen or piece of paper on them.
I even prepared and bought sketchbooks and pencils and pens in case somebody could have needed them. :D
I went around the city with three times the weight I usually carry around with my bags, but fine. I am used to carry heavy and voluminous bags around!
We met in a park, we were three, and since the other two people were completely new to Zentangle, I started with the patterns that are usually taught at the very beginning. And explained what I was doing and why.
What I liked the most was trying to explain all the times that there are no mistakes. You draw something out of its section? You can see how the Printemps spiral became the protagonist of the Hollibaugh section.
What I also liked was having a new view on the patterns. The two people with me had a different view on all the patterns. I think I would have never mixed a Trelina with Bublz. But they fit together so neatly!
What I also liked (oh my, did I like everything? to be honest, yes, I did like everything, when the fear of messing up everything faded away while sitting in the park and drawing on my lap) was trying to show or at least explain two or three different ways to do the same patterns.
The only negative thing is that the others did not trust themselves to use the fineliner, and went on the most or all the time drawing with the pencil, that did everything more difficult in my opinion.
I did not manage to ask for permission to publish their drawings, but maybe I will get it at a later point and would be so happy to add them here.
Here what I did:

This morning I finished the second page. You can find it with and without shading. I decided to shade only Shattuck. I also tried to explain the importance of shading during our meetup. But we could not do it on others drawings since they were made with pencils to start with. :)
