Strings and Verdigogh, I avoided you like the plague!

Back to the Zentangle Primer.
The first two chapters were pretty easy. And now we have the third, whose focus is strings.

I have always neglected strings and as you maybe saw in this post I only lately started shading. This book has been helping a lot to make me focus on strings, I have seen on paper the difference on the balance in a tile when you give some limits with strings.

So, first thing. Draw strings! And borders! At the very beginning.

Second lesson about strings. Draw as many strings as you want! You don't have to. You can  then decide to draw a tangle and take one or more of the sections that the strings have created, leave one or more sections empty and... you can also go over the borders! Maybe with an embellishment or a Zinger. 

I started feeling a bit abandoned, no new patterns really introduced with steps but many were mentioned or could be seen in tiles. I attempted to do a Verdigogh but it did not work that well. So I tried and tried and tried again, with the help of the videos from Rick, Maria, Molly and Martha that are listed for Verdigogh in TanglePatterns. 

End of the story, I liked this chapter, but I would have appreciated examples with patterns that were already introduced.
